The walk goes through Seskinore Forest passing the courtyard and stableblock which is all that remains of the McClintock Estate. The forest is predominantly mixed or deciduous and therefore changes with the seasons.

  • A nice walk. In winter, walking around the boundary can be a bit difficult once off the gravel paths. I didn’t see any amenities. I also didn’t see any waymarks which is a bit problematic if you are not familiar with the forest. Despite this the forest is worth a visit in you are in the area.

  • Seskinore Forest is owned by Forest Service NI and as such members of the public are allowed access to the whole forest on foot. Any of the routes available in the forest are potential walking routes.

    Route Description

    Park either opposite the church or in Seskinore Forest. The walk then follows forest tracks through the forest past the courtyard and stable block. It then skirts the edge of the forest, through surrounding farmland. There is a choice of return route giving a distance of 2.8 or 3.6 miles. Alternatively the two routes can be combined to give a total distance of 4.5 miles.

    These walks are situated in a working forest environment and may be subject to diversion and closure from time to time.
