Gort Moss Walk
A linear walk of 5 miles along old moss roads and between leafy hedgerows close to the village of Ardboe, passing Kinturk Cultural Centre and Coyle’s Cottage – a traditional fishermans cottage, made of mud, clay and wood, thatched with reeds.

Starting at Kinturk Cultural Centre car park, walk along Kinturk Road 200m to Coyles Cottage. Visit this traditional fishermans cottage for crafts, folklore etc.
Enter Gort Moss via a concrete lane, turn left and travel south for 1 mile via Galiagh Rampart to Ardboe and Battery Road, retrace your steps (2miles) continue through Gort Moss, north to Sandy Rampart, Kinturk Road, 3 miles. Follow blue markers through farm lane fields to the cot bridge and cot lane to Ballylifford – 4 miles, return to Coyles Cottage via Cot Lane, footbridge, Kinturk Road, Gortmoss and Curran Quay – (5miles).
Visitors to the area are encouraged to visit Ardboe Old Cross dated from the 10th Century and is believed to be the first High Cross Of Ulster.

Take the B73 east from Cookstown to Coagh.
After approx. 9.5 miles turn left at a Costcutter onto the Annaghmore Road following brown signs to Coyle’s Cottage & Kinturk Cultural Centre.
Approx. 1 mile along this road you will pass Coyles Cottage on the right, continue for another 200m to Kinturk Cultural Centre – a new red brick building with a large car park (also on the right.)

Public toilets are located at the Kinturk Cultural Centre. There is also a restaurant and Lough Neagh Exhibition. Opening hours apply.
